Public Access Campaign
A Model for Low-power FM
Cable Access television is an excellent model for the possible low-power service. Prometheus Radio Project is very interested in alerting public acess and community technology centers about the legalization. In the public access model, a specific sort of corporation is set up with the express intent of giving all comers who meet reasonable criteria airtime. The corporation acts as the guardian of the frequency, and administers its use by those that apply to them. In this model, only this type of organization would be given frequencies, or there would be a strong preference given to those who wanted to start such a station.
